We perform both outpatient and inpatient surgery at Advocate Children’s Hospital – Park Ridge (Advocate Lutheran General Hospital), Advocate Children’s Hospital – Oak Lawn (Advocate Christ Medical Center) and Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center. Outpatient procedures are usually performed in the Ambulatory Surgery Center at each campus, which optimizes convenience. We provide easy access to outstanding care for a complete range of urologic conditions.

Here's what you should bring to your child's appointment:
- Insurance card and photo ID of parent or legal guardian
- Referring physician information, including the name, address, and phone number of your child's primary care provider
- Imaging records (reports and films for all imaging studies)
- Past medical history, including any prior medical conditions and the details of any previous surgeries and/or hospitalizations
- List of medications (including herbal and over the counter)
- List of allergies
Here are a few guidelines to help you get ready for surgery:
- Your child may need to visit their primary care physician for completion of a History and Physical (H&P) within 30 days prior to surgery. Please try to arrange for this visit to occur at least three days prior to surgery. The H&P form must be completed by your primary care physician and faxed to our office.
- On the afternoon or evening of the business day before surgery, a representative from the hospital will call you to confirm the time you should arrive for surgery and to review pre-operative instructions.
- Bring an insurance card and photo ID of parent or legal guardian.
Fasting instructions:
- Eight hours without solid food, including candy
- Six hours without milk or formula
- Four hours without breast milk
- Three hours without clear liquids (clear liquids include apple juice, water)
Please note: If these instructions are not followed carefully, your child’s procedure may need to be delayed or canceled.
