Pediatric appointments are available daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., 7 days a week for ages 0-17. Whether it's a well visit, illness or chronic condition, you can rely on consistent, quality care from a dedicated virtual pediatrician who will get to know your child.
Ready for expert pediatric care that comes to you? Start by choosing your child’s virtual pediatrician online and scheduling their first video visit.
With pediatric virtual primary care, your child will get the same care as an in-person visit – just virtually. You can skip the commute and schedule your appointment whenever it works for you – as long as you’re located in Illinois or Wisconsin at the time of your visit.
After your first video visit, you’ll have an established virtual pediatrician for all of your child’s primary care needs, including help coordinating in-person care, if needed. And because your virtual pediatrician is part of Advocate Health Care, you’ll have access to the quality, award-winning care you’d expect – with the added flexibility of virtual care.
Whether your child has a minor injury, is under the weather or you have a question about their development, your virtual pediatrician is here for you. Available pediatric virtual primary care services include:
Once you select your pediatric virtual primary care provider and schedule your first appointment, here’s what you can expect.

It’s important your child is present with you on video. Each virtual visit is tailored to your child’s needs. Depending on the reason for their visit, your child's provider may discuss how they're feeling, review lab results and examine symptoms. Have your insurance card and ID ready.
At the end of your visit, your provider will go over the next steps for your child’s care. They’ll also fill existing or new prescriptions and begin coordinating any follow-up visits if needed. When you want to schedule a new visit, simply log in to LiveWell.

Children under age 18 can receive care from a virtual pediatric provider, as long as a parent or guardian is present during the video visit. Parents or guardians can schedule video visits for children ages 0-17. Learn more about proxy/dependent care.
Ages 18 or older can also use virtual primary care – simply choose a virtual family medicine provider.
Pediatric virtual primary care providers diagnose and treat many of the same conditions and symptoms as in-person visits, including:
Most conditions can be managed over video, but sometimes in-person visits are still needed. This can include lab work, vaccines, diagnostic testing and screenings. Children will also need to be seen in person for conditions like ear infections.
When in-person care is needed, we’ll partner with a nearby Advocate Health Care or Advocate Children’s Hospital location to coordinate your child’s care.
All visits are with your child’s virtual pediatrician and care team, so you’ll always see a familiar face.
Because there’s no physical exam, be ready to answer plenty of questions about your child’s condition. If your child is old enough, the provider will also want to hear directly from them to better understand their symptoms. This helps the provider make the right diagnosis and create a treatment plan to help your child feel better. You’ll also want to make sure your child is visible during the visit.
While most conditions can be treated virtually, you might need to come in for follow-up care – like a strep test or other lab tests – coordinated by your virtual provider at no additional visit fee. We can also call in any prescriptions your child may need.
When starting a pediatric virtual primary care video visit for your child, you’ll need to be physically located in Illinois or Wisconsin.
